The Role
We are looking for a Business Applications and Data Manager. This is a new in-house role with responsibility for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of business software applications and managing 42T’s data. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strategic thinking to ensure that our applications and data systems effectively support the business objectives.
Main Duties/Key Responsibilities:
Application Management
- Become expert in 42T’s line of business systems; supporting Enterprise Resource Planning, Document & Data Management, Project Management, and Customer Relationship Management software solutions.
- Act as an escalation point for application-specific problems involving change, training or development of these applications.
- Day-to-day administration of the critical line of business systems. 2nd / 3rd line support and problem solving of issues with the business applications. Ensure applications are running efficiently and are aligned with business needs.
- Oversee the lifecycle of business software applications, including planning, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Develop 42T’s line of business technology solutions by understanding the organisation, using business analysis to optimise, automate and leverage technology to support 42T’s strategy and workflows.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party service providers.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and support to the organisation. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend new solutions and improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements for new applications and enhancements. Advise and assist with the selection and implementation of new systems to support 42T’s strategic plans.
Data Management
- Implement and maintain a data governance framework, developing and enforcing data management policies and procedures.
- Oversee data architecture; manage data warehouses, databases and data integration processes with assistance of the IT Manager. Oversee database management, ensuring data classification, cleansing, integrity, security and accessibility for the business systems.
- Develop reporting abilities and deliver management information as required; developing Tableau, and other, custom reports on data within the business systems.
Project Management
- Deliver new technology solutions; lead projects related to application development, integration and data management. Develop project plans, timelines, and status reports.
- Collaborate with, and coordinate, cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet business requirements. Engage and involve employees as required for projects, liaising effectively with users at all levels including senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant and up to date regulations and standards.
Support and Training
- Provide training and support to end-users on line of business applications and data-related issues.
- Advise and manage employees when creating, developing and maintaining solutions in 42T’s line of business systems.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation for business applications and data management processes.
General
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored and accessed.
- Flexibility to meet changing requirements. There may be a requirement to work outside normal hours occasionally.
- Any reasonable duties the COO or wider team request commensurate to the role.
Person Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Systems administration experience.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering IT Projects and associated change.
- Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Experience manipulating data and producing management information reports from raw data..
- Excellent project management skills, with experience in Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrable business and process analysis skills.
- Effective communication, verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
